My name is Landon Johnston—husband, new dad, and small-business HVAC owner who has called Ward 14 home for the past 12 years. Growing up in a working-class family taught me that when something’s broken—whether it’s a furnace or trust at City Hall—you roll up your sleeves and fix it. That mindset led me to launch the Recall Gondek petition in early 2024; and I watched thousands of ordinary Calgarians gather 72,271 signatures proving just how deeply Calgarians care about their city.
Now I’m running to give that passion a permanent seat at the council table. Residents tell me they want respect, straight answers, transparent budgets, and jobs done right the first time. As the father of a newborn and husband to a hard-working nurse, I feel the same squeeze every young family feels: rising costs eating into savings for school, sports, and a first home. When new parents create a budget, they focus on the essentials and cut the fluff—City Hall should budget the same way.
I never planned on getting involved in politics, but when my community’s concerns kept getting ignored, I stood up to help!
