How the Petition Influenced me to Run for Ward 14

I never imagined I’d run for office – I am just a tradesman, just some guy – but during the recall it was ordinary people, not politicians, that were showing up and making the recall petition happen. Our petition was the largest official recall petition in the history of Canada and it DID make a difference! Many of the councillors that supported Gondek’s disastrous policies aren’t running again and I believe our petition is part of the reason why. But there is a lot more work that needs to be done, and I think that a regular guy – not another politician – is what Calgary needs right now. I will continue to stand on street corners and ask questions, I will continue to listen to the community, and I will continue to fight for my community. With your support, I can finish what that petition started and bring real change, real results, and real help to the people of Calgary.
